LA CORAL

Custom-Made Piece for Bridge House

In 2022, VERDI took part in the first edition of the Los Angeles Frieze fair, a contemporary art event. For this occasion, VERDI created “La Coral,” an exclusive rug designed specifically for Bridge House’s corridor. Bridge House, designed by architect Dan Brunn, is a sustainable structure that crosses over a natural stream. This iconic house, recognized within the Los Angeles art gallery scene, provided the setting for VERDI to display some of its most emblematic interior design pieces during the city’s art and design week.

This custom piece blends with the architectural space, mimicking the movement of the Coral snake, a species native to the Caribbean region of Colombia. Known for its striking bicolor and tricolor rings, the Coral snake inspired the intricate tatami mix pattern and vibrant color palette of the rug. Both VERDI and Dan Brunn drew on this natural connection as a key element in their work.
